Evaluation of dubbing

Sound dubbing evaluation
Introduction
For the next part of our unit we were tasked with dubbing the sound of scene of a movie or TV show. This entails learning the script, making sure that our voices match the actors and syncing it altogether. I choses to do dub for The Matrix and the scene where Neo meets Morpheus. The evaluation will show how this process went and some of the difficulties along the way.

Recording
There were a few things that had to be done before recording for the scene. A script had to be printed, the scene itself had to be read over and over again in order to make sure that my college and I knew what was being said and we had in general rehearse the scene. This unfortunately did not help the recording process. Since I had the more lines, I had problems remembering what came next and eventually I had to create multiple tracks for the multiple retake lines I did because I could not do the entirety of Morpheus' lines in one go. For my friend who was doing Neo's lines, he had generally no problems because of the short amount of lines that he had, most of which were one phrase sentences.  So in summation, recording had its difficulties but in general it was a fairly easy process once we figured out what we were doing.

Dubbing
When adding the recording to the scene the process was again simple. we got the audio of the main scene and lowered the volume and inserted our voices in there. Then we put the right pieces of dialogue in the right parts whilst making sure that our voices synced up with the characters mouth movements. This process took much less time and much less difficulty than the recording process.
